The Swiss Photography Foundation is Switzerland’s centre of excellence for photography. We collect and showcase photography from its very beginnings to the present day. As a dynamic institution, we bridge the gap between historical heritage and contemporary issues.

As well as building up and managing major photographic archives, we produce publications and promote an understanding of photography as cultural heritage. As part of a comprehensive reorganisation, we will catalogue, preserve and digitise our archive holdings between 2027 and 2030, thereby laying the foundations for their long-term preservation and ensuring they are accessible in a way that meets today’s needs.
