Fotostiftung Schweiz collection Archive and Collections
Fotostiftung Schweiz primarily collects photographic works related to Switzerland (Helvetica), from the beginnings of photography to the present day. In so doing, it incorporates artistic forms of expression, as well as documentary, applied and private forms of photography. Via comprehensive and representative groups of works, it encompasses many major photographers, such as Werner Bischof, René Burri, Robert Frank, Hans Finsler, René Groebli, Jean Mohr, Lucia Moholy, Iren Stehli, Albert Steiner, Roman Vishniac and Pia Zanetti. The overarching purpose of the collection is to pass on Switzerland’s photographic heritage to future generations in exemplary fashion and in the form of originals.
