Hugo Jaeggi succeeded in fathoming the often contradictory phenomena of human existence. He did so in a way that directly touches and frequently irritates us as observers. The possible meanings of his pictures only become apparent when each individual perceives them.
They almost look like toy cars: Automobiles, delivery vans and lorries, captured in a bird’s-eye view, seem to get in each other’s way on a vast roundabout. However, what at first glance suggests chaos, presents only a moment, a frozen fraction of a second from the flow of time, which follows very specific rules and laws.
