Vernissage

Female. Focus. Photo Archives.

Fotostiftung Schweiz
On 27th February 2026, three new exhibitions are set to open at Fotostiftung Schweiz and Fotomuseum Winterthur.
Female. Focus. Photo Archives. at Fotostiftung Schweiz centres on the archives of seven women photographers whose life’s work has often been cast in the shadows by their male colleagues and whose contributions to the history of photography in Switzerland have been largely overlooked.

The year begins at Fotomuseum Winterthur with Paul Mpagi Sepuya – Focus. Desire., Sepuya’s (b. 1982) first major solo exhibition in Switzerland. In his portraits and studio photographs he blends sensual intimacy with visual precision. Running in parallel, Swiss photographer Ester Vonplon’s exhibition Wingbeat turns its attention to lesser-known Swiss landscapes. Her photographs speak of the vulnerability and transience of nature.

You are warmly invited to join us for the joint vernissage:
Friday, 27 February 2026, 18:00, Grüzenstrasse 44+45
