Das Werk von Roger Humbert (1929-2022) positioniert ihn als einen Pionier der Schweizer Fotografie. Über sieben Jahrzehnte hinweg entwickelte Humbert seine Erforschungen des Lichts – von analogen Fotogrammen über klassische Fotografien bis hin zu digitalen Lichtkompositionen. Die Ausstellung in der Fotostiftung Schweiz vermittelt einen umfassenden Einblick in sein vielseitiges und komplexes Œuvre.

Female. Focus. Photo Archives. at Fotostiftung Schweiz centres on the archives of seven women photographers whose life’s work has often been cast in the shadows by their male colleagues and whose contributions to the history of photography in Switzerland have been largely overlooked.
The year begins at Fotomuseum Winterthur with Paul Mpagi Sepuya – Focus. Desire., Sepuya’s (b. 1982) first major solo exhibition in Switzerland. In his portraits and studio photographs he blends sensual intimacy with visual precision. Running in parallel, Swiss photographer Ester Vonplon’s exhibition Wingbeat turns its attention to lesser-known Swiss landscapes. Her photographs speak of the vulnerability and transience of nature.
